8 Grueling Truth’s we learned during week 14 of the 2021 NFL season

KANSAS CITY, MO - DECEMBER 12: Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (25) holds the ball out to celebrate after a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter of an NFL game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs on Dec 12, 2021 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. 1) Zac Taylor should be fired

The Bengals had first place in their hands, and they let it get away. From two fumbled punts in the first half to a stupid taunting penalty on Von Bell, don’t forget the atrocious play calling throughout the entire game. The overtime saw the Bengals throw the ball all over the Niners defense until they got close to the endzone, and then inexplicably, the Bengals took the ball out of Joe Burrow’s hands and decided to run the ball twice and then try to throw on third down. Of course, they settled for a field goal and then watched the Niners march the length of the field to win the game. Zac Taylor plays not to lose, and when you do that, more often than not, you lose. Right now, the AFC North is a mess with injuries, and the Bengals are blowing an opportunity to win the division because three years ago, they hired a coach that was not qualified to be an NFL head coach.

2) The AFC North is in shambles

Injuries have destroyed all four teams in this division, and all are playing well below average at the moment. I would almost lean towards Cleveland to win the division, and I don’t know why. Usually, I would give the edge to the Ravens, but John Harbaugh seems to have lost his damn mind. With over seven minutes left against Cleveland, Harbaugh decided to go for two points down 9. They missed and were still down two scores and eventually lost the game.

3) Defense has the Chiefs positioned as the favorite in the AFC

The Raiders danced on the Chiefs logo in pregame warmups, a horrible idea. The Chiefs beat the brakes off the Raiders 48-9, and the game was not as close as the score would indicate! It was that bad! The Chiefs defense looked like they did two years ago when they got hot at the end of the season and won the Super Bowl. They hit quarterback Derek Carr 11 times on Sunday and forced 5 Raiders turnovers. Mahomes was sharp, completing 20 of 24 passes for 258 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, but let’s get back to why the Chiefs are winning, and that is simply a suffocating defense. The Chiefs are on a roll that could see them claim their third consecutive AFC Championship.

4) The Raiders are done

The Raiders have been through hell as a team this season with the firing of Jon Gruden and then the Henry Ruggs incident, and even though they have fought their butts off this season, they look done.

5) Micah Parson’s is the best rookie in the NFL

Micah Parsons, who had two sacks and a forced fumble on Sunday, brought him to 12 sacks in his rookie season. Remember, Parson’s is not just an edge rusher. He is a Linebacker. Parson’s is one of the few linebackers in the NFL that can tip the playing field; he is just that good.

6) Cam Newton needs to retire

It’s getting painful to watch newton continue to struggle. He was so bad he was replaced by P.J. Walker in the second quarter on Sunday. The Panthers season is done, and now all of you asking why nobody would sign Newton during the first half of the season knows why; he is done!

7) The Saints are still dangerous, but not that dangerous

The Saints defense is still good, but they aren’t that dangerous because they don’t have a quarterback. The Saints are dangerous when Alvin Kamara is healthy on Sunday; Kamara punished the Jets with 120 yards and one touchdown on 27 rushing attempts. So they will win some games and possibly sneak into the playoffs if Kamara stays healthy, but they won’t last long if they do make it.

8) The Jaguars are a dumpster-fire

Coach Urban Meyer threatened to fire whichever of his assistant coaches leaked that he had called them “losers” last week. Unfortunately for Meyer, he is a loser also when it comes to coaching in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence once again was terrible, and the Jags played with no intensity. Meyer needs to be fired ASAP! Every team that didn’t draft Parson’s is kicking themselves right now as he is the main reason for the Cowboys stellar season up until now.
