2019 NFL Post-Draft Power Rankings (5/6/19)

Post Draft Power Rankings!

1) New England Patriots – I know they lost Gronk, but they still have Belichick and Brady and they had a solid draft. I will keep them here until they show they can no longer get it done.

2) New Orleans Saints – The Saints didn’t draft until after the first round but the free agent signing of Jared Cook at Tight End will prove to be huge.

3) Indianapolis Colts – Colts fans came into free agency bragging about all their cap space, and then they complained because they still had all that cap space! After the draft, they have to be impressed how Colts management, instead of trying to buy a championship, have instead drafted well once again. If Luck continues to improve, this team may have a Super Bowl run in them.

4) Philadelphia Eagles – A solid draft and an excellent Coach makes the Eagles a threat again. That’s if Quarterback Carson Wentz can stay healthy and that could be a big if?

5) Los Angeles Rams – The Rams are a contender if Todd Gurley is 100 percent. If Gurley is not, this team has no shot! Jared Goff is an average Quarterback and Sean McVay is overrated, but a healthy Gurley makes them a playoff team.

6) LA Chargers – The Chargers had a good draft and look poised to possibly give Quarterback Phillip Rivers his best shot at a Super Bowl.

7) Dallas Cowboys – Trysten Hill is the missing piece to making the Cowboys a dominant defense. The Cowboys have a complete team and now it’s up to Head Coach Jason Garrett to put it all together.

8) SF 49ers – If Jimmy G. stays healthy the 49ers could be a darkhorse Super Bowl contender! They will have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and that alone could put them in position. The addition of Nick Bosa makes them very dangerous!

9) Chicago Bears – Losing the Defensive Coordinator is worrisome but the draft actually helped the Bears even though they did not have a first-round pick. They lost stud running back Jordan Howard and replaced him with David Montgomery. While Montgomery is not as good as Howard, he fits Head Coach Matt Nagy’s offense much better.

10) Kansas City Chiefs – Can we all agree that Head Coach Andy Reid has made it obvious that he wants to win at any cost? In a few years maybe Coach Reid can coach the Mean Machine against the Guards.

11) Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings added a weapon on offense in Tight End Irv Smith and more importantly they upgraded the offensive line in this offseason.

12) Baltimore Ravens – They hit a home run in the draft and if I had more faith in Lamar Jackson they would be in the top ten, but I don’t.

13) Cleveland Browns – The Browns have the look of a playoff team but past history makes us a little anxious picking them any higher than this.

14) Jacksonville Jaguars – Great offseason. With Nick Foles at the helm they could challenge in the South.

15) Green Bay Packers – The Packers finally drafted for need this year and if Aaron Rodgers stays healthy they should contend in the NFC North.

16) Seattle Seahawks – As long as they have Russell Wilson playing Quarterback they will have a chance.

17) Tennessee Titans – They have a nice roster but it will all depend on Marcus Mariota.

18) Houston Texans – The Texans will go as there offensive line goes.

19) Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers do have major issues, but they had a nice draft and they still got a productive Big Ben.

20) Atlanta Falcons – The Falcons will have a retooled offensive line and how quickly they mesh with each other will be imperative for the Falcons to have a winning season.

21) Detroit Lions – The Lions have had an interesting offseason and I think they could be a player in the NFC North this season.

22) Cincinnati Bengals – With the Ravens playing an unproven Quarterback, the Browns being the Browns and the Steelers losing Brown and Bell, you never know?

23) New York Jets – I think the Jets have enough talent to make a run at eight wins this season.

24) Oakland Raiders – They still have David Carr and after this draft, they do have more talent, but will it be enough?

25) Denver Broncos – The Broncos definitely got better in this year’s draft, but they are still another draft away from contending.

26) Buffalo Bills – The Bills are slowly getting better and better.

27) Carolina Panthers – The Panthers had a bad draft and look like they are headed for a 4 or 5 win season.

28) Washington Redskins – The Redskins had a solid draft and if Owner Daniel Snyder has patience this could turn into a good team in two-three years.

29) New York Giants – The Giants better be right about Quarterback Daniel Jones, but I do not think they are.

30) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – They did get better during this past draft but they have a lot of holes to fill.

31) Arizona Cardinals – The Cards took a big risk with Murray and Kingsbury, and we will see how it works out.

32) Miami Dolphins – Next year Tua?
