According to research conducted by The Grueling Truth, Australia stands out as the most tennis-obsessed nation in the world. As we prepare for the upcoming Davis Cup Finals in Malaga later this month (21st November), we delved into the data to unveil the top 10 countries where tennis enthusiasm is at its peak.

Tennis fever

The global love for tennis extends beyond Australia, with the second most tennis-obsessed country being Austria. Their passion for the sport is undeniable, and it’s closely followed by the United Kingdom, taking the third spot in the rankings. Canada secures the fourth position, with tennis fever running high across the nation. Ireland rounds out the top five, proving that tennis has a firm grip on enthusiasts in this country.

While the top five countries showcase a strong and enduring love for tennis, there are a few emerging nations making their presence felt in the tennis world. Surprisingly (or not), Serbia has been steadily climbing the ranks, securing the sixth position in the list, largely thanks to the remarkable achievements of Novak Djokovic. His dominance in the tennis world has not only made Serbia a significant player but has also inspired a new generation of tennis enthusiasts in the country.

Spain, despite being the host country for the upcoming Davis Cup Finals, didn’t feature in the Top 10, indicating that while they may host the event, they are still striving to establish themselves as a tennis powerhouse.

The ranking was compiled using Google Trends, which tracked search interest from October 2022 to October 2023 for topics such as tennis, tennis racquet, Wimbledon, Davis Cup, US Open, Australian Open and Grand Slam. The final list was determined by assessing the level of interest in these terms within each country.
