The time is finally upon us College Football is finally back! After what has seemed like an eternity without College Football, the season is upon us. With loads of expectations, new coaches, and flat-out amazing storyline this College Football like many before is set to be one for the history books. For the folks down South in SEC country, the madness of SEC football will kickoff Thursday night as the Texas A&M Aggies and new coach Jimbo Fisher will take the field and host Northwestern State.
As Thursday rolls around let’s take a look at the first game on the SEC slate. Texas A&M will play host to Northwestern State. The Aggies will look to fine tune everything before a matchup in week two with the Clemson Tigers. Texas A&M should win the game with Northwestern State by a landslide but it will be interesting to see how Jimbo does in his first game as the head coach College Station.
Now let’s get to Saturday in the Southeastern Conference. With a full day of College Football for the fans down south, the action is bound to be high flying and full of SEC wins.
Ole Miss and Texas Tech – ESPN
The Ole Miss Rebels travel to Houston to kick off the season with a very good Texas Tech team. First-year head coach Matt Luke will lead his Rebels to battle with the Red Raiders from Lubbock.

Coastal Carolina and South Carolina – SEC Network
South Carolina opens the season with an in-state foe who recently joined the FBS level of play. Will Muschamp and company will use this game as a primer for a very tough SEC slate for the Gamecocks.

Kentucky and Central Michigan – ESPNU
The Wildcats take the field at Kroger Field on Saturday night as they host the sneaky Chippewas from Central Michigan. After last season’s dismal finish the Wildcats led by Junior Running Back Benny Snell will look to avenge last season and lead the Wildcats to a third straight bowl appearance.

Auburn and Washington- ABC
What many people are considering the game of the day even as big as a playoff elimination game. The Tigers and Huskies take the field in Atlanta in the annual Chick-Fil-A kickoff game on Saturday afternoon.

Tennessee and West Virginia- CBS
The Coach Prewitt era gets started with a massive game in Charlotte as the Volunteers get the season started with a border state battle with West Virginia. The Volunteers are coming into the game a double-digit underdog with a chip of their backs. This has the potential to be a massive upset.
WVU- 24- UT 14
Arkansas will face off with Eastern Illinois in an SEC vs FCS game at three on the SEC Network.

Missouri plays host to FCS opponent UT Martin in Columbia at three on the SEC Network.

Ah, the nightcap. After a long day of going hard at your respected school, it will be time to soak in four more SEC games.
The first two will see two new coaches going to battle with FCS schools.
Dan Mullen and his Florida Gators will take on Charleston Southern at 6:30 on the SEC Network. The Gators are heavy favorites and should win this game in a landslide to give Mullen his first win as a Gator.
Joe Moorhead starts his era in Starkville with FCS opponent SF. Austin, Saturday night at 6:30 on ESPNU. The Bulldogs will likely take care of business in blowout fashion and start the new era of Bulldog football with a bang.
Battle of Middle Tennessee takes place Saturday in Nashville as Vanderbilt takes the field with rival Middle Tennessee State. Derek Mason and company will have their hands full as Vandy starts the season with a very good Blue Raider team. That game kicks off at 6:30 on the SEC Network.

The last game on Saturday night is one that will see the Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Louisville Cardinals, in Orlando. Alabama is a heavy favorite in this game and will likely continue their dominance over a depleted Louisville team. The game kicks off at 7:00 on ABC.

The final game of the weekend for the mighty SEC will see LSU take the field with Miami on Sunday night from Dallas. This will be a difficult game for Coach O and his Tigers team, for the simple reason being the Hurricanes are picked to be one of the best in the ACC. The Tigers are in a rebuilding year, but with a win on Sunday, the entire season for the Tigers could be changed.
