In week 8 of the NCAA football season, can underdogs Notre Dame, Louisville and Wake Forest pull off upsets? And how well will the top teams on the college football playoff table fare? The Grueling Truth has your NCAA football previews, predictions and point spreads for week 8 directly belowโฆ
Both teams are coming off emotional victories: The Orangemen took down defending national champions Clemson and the Canes squeaked by Georgia Tech. I am not sold on Miami being a playoff contender. That being said, I think an emotional letdown will be hard to avoid for Syracuse.
Wake Forest at Georgia Tech (-6.5)
The Demon Deacons have been a good team this year; I just happen to think Georgia Tech is a little better.
Michigan Wolverines at Penn State Nittany Lions (-9.5)
The Wolverines have a great defense, but the offense has been poor to say the least. I find it hard to believe that the Wolverines have enough offense to win this game.
Kansas Jayhawks at TCU Horned Frogs (-39)
This game matches up one of the best teams in the nation against one of the worst.
Maryland Terrapins at Wisconsin Badgers (-24)
The point spread makes this game interesting, and I think the Terps can cover.
Arizona Wildcats (-3) at California Golden Bears
I really think this could be one of the best games of this weekend. Both teams are coming off huge wins.
Tennessee Volunteers at Alabama Crimson Tide (-35)
The Tide will beat the Volunteers like they own them.
Oklahoma State Cowboys (-7) at Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns are much improved, but the Cowboys are on a mission.
Louisville Cardinals at Florida State Seminoles (-7)
I like the Cards in the upset here; I think Lamar Jackson can put too many points up on the Seminoles and the Seminoles won’t keep up.
USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-3)
I like Notre Dame here; the Trojans have proven to be overrated this year and this is a chance for the Irish to make a statement.
Oklahoma Sooners (-14) at Kansas State Wildcats
The Sooners have too much of everything for the Wildcats.
LSU Tigers (-6.5) at Ole Miss
The Tigers seem back on track and can still be a major player in the SEC race.
