9 Grueling Truth’s we learned during Championship weekend

What did we learn?

1) The Heisman trophy will be going to Bryce Young

Going into this weekend, the trophy was up for grabs, and on Saturday, Bryce Young put a stranglehold on it. Young’s massive talents were on display against a Georgia defense having a historic season. The key to that last sentence was had because on Saturday; Young made the Bulldogs defense look ordinary at best. Pitt QB Kenny Pickett showed us why he deserved to be in the conversation all season long as he was excellent in the ACC championship win over Wake Forest. The trophy will be going to Alabama, though, no questions asked.

2) Georgia was exposed

Let’s face it; the Bulldogs schedule was not demanding. It was so soft that if it had been Cincinnati’s schedule, they would be playing in a regular bowl game. The Bulldogs defense was overwhelmed by the Tide, and the Georgia offense is average. Plus, isn’t this how Kirby Smart usually does it? By does it, I mean lose the big game?

3) Georgia should be ranked at number 4

The Bulldogs best wins are over Clemson and Kentucky, both teams ranked at the bottom of the top 25, plus they just got blown out by Alabama, and it’s an Alabama team that barely beat LSU and Auburn over the last few weeks. Cincinnati’s best win is over the 5th ranked Fighting Irish, and they have no losses. I guess the NCAA wants to keep the dream of the SEC Championship game being the National Championship game. Too bad for the committee that I can almost guarantee the championship game will not be Alabama vs Georgia.

4) Iowa played for the Big Ten Championship

Iowa looks like they are stuck in the 1980s, and Michigan beat the brakes off them. This fact tells you that the big ten is overrated! Kirk Ferentz is a good coach, but if you are an Iowa fan, please realize that this season is as good as it will get until he’s gone.

5) The Michigan Wolverines may be the best team in the country

Every since the blown lead against Michigan State, the Wolverines have been dominant on both sides of the ball. They are a big physical team that likes to impose their will, and they did just that to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night. I will make this prediction right now; the Wolverines will beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the Final 4.

6) Take Cincinnati and the 14 points against Bama

I am not saying Cincinnati will win; I am just pointing out Alabama is not 14 points better than the Bearcats. The Bearcats winning is not out of the question, though. Physically the Bearcats can match Bama in the trenches, and remember, just a week ago, Alabama couldn’t block the Auburn Tigers defensive front, and the Bearcats are bigger and more athletic than the Tigers. Desmond Ridder will have to be consistent, which has been an issue this season, but the Bearcats also have Jerome Ford running the ball. If you expect this to be a mismatch, you are sadly mistaken.

7) Oklahoma has hired the right man

The Sooners got the man they wanted in Brent Venables, the former Clemson defensive coordinator who has experience in big games and is an Oklahoma guy. Home run for the Sooners.

8) Lee Corso is a fool

Of course, I could put this as a grueling truth every week, and I would be right. The sad thing is the way he and most members of the media treat the so-called non-elite programs in College Football. The disrespect is rampant, and it is driven by nothing but money.

9) Brian Kelli is a fool

Watch Coach Kelly with his cajun accent at an LSU game, and this one is self-explanatory.
