College Football Week 13 Predictions 2021

Rivalry week is upon us College Football fans, and although there aren’t many ranked versus ranked, it may not matter due to the underdog teams playing spoiler. In Week 12, Ohio State & Utah had statement performances, and Clemson finally looked the part of a top-tier program we’ve come to expect. Week 13 stands out with two considerable contests in the Big Ten and Big-12, along with a decent amount of games flying under the radar. Cincinnati got ranked at #4, giving the Bearcats the highest rating of any non-power five teams in the short history of the National Semi-Finals.  To find the best place to bet on rivalry weekend, click here.

Marquee Matchups

#2 Ohio State vs #5 Michigan: Here we go again in this high-profile rivalry game which has been one-sided for some time now. Is this the year that head coach Jim Harbaugh & Michigan finally gets over the hump? The Wolverines probably should be undefeated, having given up a nice lead to Michigan State a few weeks back. Ohio State lost a close one at home to Oregon but has since improved, beating a few quality opponents peaking last week by thrashing Sparty 56-7. The Wolverines passing defense is excellent, but Ohio State will test them like never before, sporting three possible 1000-yard receivers. Beyond Georgia, there’s no other great team this year, so Michigan should be able to keep it relatively close unless OSU proves they are the 2nd great team. The streak of 8 in a row continues for Ohio State.

The Pick: Ohio State 37 Michigan 30 

#7 Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma: This Big-12 marquee matchup has a lot riding on it, with a trip to the league championship on the line for the Sooners. If Oklahoma loses, Baylor will take their sport; even if an OKST loses this week, it will be a rematch next week. These teams have played in many wire to wire games until they both took an ‘L’. The difference here is we don’t expect Oklahoma to get by teams barely, and the Sooners have a subpar offensive compared to years past. Home field advantage and better defense is an excellent reason to pick the Cowboys in this spot. The obvious counter to that is the Sooners are a desperate team in this spot needing to win to get in. Side note it’s strange to see this game set at 49.5 points in what is typically a shootout.

The Pick: Oklahoma State 28 Oklahoma 27  

Under The Radar

#12 Michigan State vs. Penn State: Fairly easy to tell why this Big Ten matchup is flying under the radar with Sparty getting dog-walked by Ohio State last week. Earlier in the season, it was thought to be a super meaningful game on the East side of the conference. Will the blowout loss carry into this week for Michigan State, or will they come out fired up from the embarrassment? The Nittany Lions need a good win to finish off the regular season and will be coming in loosey-goosey. Not to mention Penn State QB Sean Clifford is fully capable of putting up numbers against an MSU defense that gives up 340-passing yards per game.

The Pick: Penn State 26 Michigan State 24

Saturday Upset Special

LSU becomes bowl eligible after upsetting #15 Texas A&M as a 6.5-point home dog.

(Honorable Mention: If you like Michigan State to bounce back, Sparty is technically a 1-point home dog just saying. Also, with Cornhuskers QB Adrian Martinez out against Iowa, the Hawkeyes are a 1-point road dog.)

#16 Iowa vs Nebraska: Iowa needs this win to stay alive for a trip to the Big Ten title game, and Nebraska has a knack for keeping things close.

#21 San Diego State vs. Boise State: The Aztecs need to stay one game up on Fresno State, who owns the tie-breaker in the Mountain West, while Boise State is a 2.5-point favorite.

Against The Spread 

#3 Alabama will win the Iron Bowl but not by the 19.5-points Las Vegas claims over Auburn.

Take it to the window

#13 BYU covers as a 7-point favorite to USC.

-Ohio State QB CJ Stroud threw for 393 yards and six touchdowns in a blowout victory over Michigan State. Did I forget to mention that was his number in the 1st half?

-That 56-7 walkover by Ohio State ranks as the 5th worst loss by an AP-Top-10 team since 1935.

-Buckeyes WR Chris Olave set a school record with 35 career receiving touchdowns topping David Boston’s mark.

-Utah destroyed Oregon giving the Utes their most significant victory over a Top-10 team in school history.
