Keys for the Gators
Sure they have more skill position players than they have had in more than a decade, but last year’s solid offensive line is gone and that raises huge questions for the Gators on offense. The defense will be led by defensive end Jabari Zuniga, veteran middle linebackerย David Reeseย and stud defensive backsย C.J. Hendersonย andย Marco Wilson. The big problem for the gators lies in the backside of the defense as the Gators have quality starter but very little depth.
The Hurricanes downfall the last few years have been on offense, especially at the Quarterback position. Hopefully for the Canes sake that will all change this year with Freshman standout Quarterback Jarren Williams taking over the reins of the offense. The Canes have some key returners on the offensive side of the ball in Running Back DeeJay Dallas, Wide Receiver Jeff Thomasย andย Buffalo transfer K.J. Osborn. The Canes lack experience up front on the offensive line but they still should be much better than they were last year.
Prediction: Points should be hard to come by as the skill positions are solid but both offensive lines have serious questions. The difference in this game will be the Hurricanes front seven, who will cause mass chaos on the Gators offensive line. This will be a close, hard-fought game, but don’t expect it to be a pretty game as I look for ugly to be the best way to describe this game when it’s all said and done.
As of this moment, the Canes are 7-point dogs and that’s too many points to pass up here. Take the Canes and the points.
Canes +7, Over under is 47 (Stay Away)
