AMES, IA - SEPTEMBER 4: Quarterback Brock Purdy #15 of the Iowa State Cyclones scrambles under pressure from defensive lineman Khristian Boyd #99 of the Northern Iowa Panthers in the second half of play at Jack Trice Stadium on September 4, 2021 in Ames, Iowa. South Florida at No. 13 Florida (-28.5) (1 p.m., ABC)

Will Florida overlook South Florida with Alabama on the horizon? I don’t think they will. The Gators will suffocate the South Florida offense and force numerous turnovers. Pick: Florida -28.5

No. 12 Oregon at No. 3 Ohio State (-13.5) (12 p.m., FOX)

Kayvon Thibodeaux’s availability will be huge. Without him, the Ducks will have a tough time pressuring Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. With that being said, I think Stroud has a big game, and the Buckeyes pull away at the end. The point spread does scare me here, but I am taking the Buckeyes. Pick: Buckeyes -13.5

Toledo at No. 8 Notre Dame (-16.5) (2:30 p.m., Peacock)

Last weekend, Notre Dame barely escaped Florida State, but it was a solid road win in a hostile environment. Toldeo is a solid team, though, and I think the points here will be too good to pass up. I would really consider a bet Saturday morning as I think the point spread could rise even higher. Pick: Toldeo +16.5

No. 10 Iowa at No. 9 Iowa State (-4.5) (4:30 p.m., ABC)

This is the game of the week to me and the biggest game in the rivalries history. This will be a hard-fought game that will be decided in the fourth quarter. I Like the Cyclones at home by a FG. Pick: Iowa  +4.5

Ball State at No. 11 Penn State (-22.5) (3:30 p.m., FS1)

Penn State is coming off an emotional, physical win at Wisconsin, so that a letdown would be normal here. Penn State will win, but Ball State is good enough to cover in this one. Pick: Ball State +22.5

No. 15 Texas (-6.5) at Arkansas (7 p.m., ESPN)

This is a renewal of an old rivalry from years gone by, and this game will be close like the majority of those clashes. I like the Longhorns on the road by a TD. Pick: Texas -6.5

No. 21 Utah (-7.5) at BYU (10:15 p.m., ESPN)

Utah has won the last 9 games in this rivalry, and I think that streak stops here. BYU wins this game outright. Pick: BYU +7.5

Stanford at No. 14 USC (-17.5) (10:30 p.m., FOX)

Stanford has major issues running the ball, and USC is just the better team and will win, but I like the Cardinal toocover. Pick:  +17.5
