1) Clemson Tigers – The Tigers left no doubt in a dominant performance against the Hurricanes.
2) Oklahoma Sooners – Just like Clemson the Sooners left no questions as to whether they should be in the College Football playoffs.
3) Georgia Bulldogs – The Bulldogs got revenge against Auburn and have proven to be the best team in the SEC.
4) Alabama Crimson Tide – The Tide should be in over Ohio State, in my opinion.
5) Ohio State Buckeyes – The Buckeyes got a huge win against Wisconsin, but two losses and an especially bad loss to Iowa keeps them out. A bad loss to Michigan kept Penn State out last year, so I figure it’s only fair to judge Ohio State the same way.
6) Central Florida Golden Knights – What else can you say? They are undefeated and beat a very good Memphis team twice, and also handled Navy and South Florida.
7) Wisconsin Badgers – Let a close one get away against Ohio State.
8) Auburn Tigers – Beat two teams that were ranked number one during the season.
9) USC Trojans – The Trojans came on at the end of the year but a slow start doomed them.
10) Washington Huskies – Finished strong against rival Washington State.
11) Penn State Nittany Lions – The Lions lost a lead against the Buckeyes and never did recover.
12) Miami Hurricanes – The Canes had a surprise season; next year it will be expected.
13) TCU Horned Frogs – A poor showing doesn’t change the fact that this was a very good team this year.
14) Memphis Tigers โย The Tigers lost a heartbreaker to Central Florida.
15) Stanford Cardinal โย Came up short against USC.
16) LSU Tigers –ย Did not play.
17) Notre Dame Fighting Irish –ย Did not play.
18) Oklahoma State Cowboys –ย Did not play.
19)ย Michigan State Spartans –ย Did not play.
20) Northwestern Wildcats –ย Did not play.
21) Virginia Tech Hokies –ย Did not play.
22) N.C. State Wolfpack –ย Did not play.
23) Boise State Broncos – Got revenge and won the Mountain west over Fresno State.
24) Fresno State Bulldogs – Lost a tough one at Boise.
25) Florida Atlantic – Had a great season, won Conference Championship game.
