Both champions are putting their flawless unbeaten records on the line. With the British heavyweight champ getting closer to his world title unification when he comes head-to-head with Joseph Parker on the 31st of March 2018. This year’s fight has been labeled “the most meaningful heavyweight fight in a long time” and there’s no shortage of opinions on picking a winner. AJ vs Parker odds on Paddy Power have AJ 1/12 and Parker 11/2. Neither of these athletes have lost a match in their entire boxing career, making this a must-see fight. However, Parker is convinced that no matter the outcome on the 31st March, he plans on challenging AJ to a rematch later this year, despite being adamant that he’ll be a unified heavyweight champion.
However, it would be a mistake for Parker to underestimate his opponent. As Joshua has a tendency to being the bearer of bad news to his challengers in the past, such as Carlos Takam. Who Parker has also faced off against Takam, both Joshua and Parker came out victorious, despite both having their fair share of difficulty when battling it out against Takam, who proved himself to be a very durable contender.
At 6’4 Parker isn’t the biggest of heavyweight champions, as Anthony Joshua is a whopping 6’6. Parker has plenty to prove on the power of his punches, as of yet, they haven’t looked anywhere near on the same level as Joshua’s. But Parker does have a precise boxing style, which will pose a greater threat than previous competitors Joshua has faced. As Parker tends to throw his shots in quick concession, which could result in a possible knockout. Joseph Parker will need to bring his best performance to win, especially as the fight offers AJ home advantage, as it could be a hostile environment for the New Zealander.
Below are the champions statistics and what we can expect to see:
