Casual Mondays: The stupidest things boxing fanboys said this week (12/31/18)

2019 is upon us and this is the last Casual Mondays piece for you to enjoy before that clock strikes 12. I have to thank each and every one of you who sits down and sifts through this week in and week out, because without you I probably would have left this alone 27 editions ago.

A friendly reminder that Donnie Nietes and Kazuto Ioka will have fought each other by the time this gets published. That is a lovely matchup between two gifted individuals. Nietes has cracked a few a few pound-for-pound lists this year but don’t be surprised if it is proven unwarranted and Ioka decisions him over the distance. The Filipino is 36, an advanced age for any weight, but especially so from bantamweight and below. Also, Ioka is riding high after his clear victory over Arroyo.
