So, uh, did anyone have Zach Parker winning his fight againstย Darryll Williams? That seemed like a one-sided fight in Williams’ favor but Parker got the nod. I’ve heard rumors of entrenched bias from Parker’s amateur days.
I know we are all feeling for Ryan Burnett after his injured back had him checkout early against Donaire. Burnett looked well on his way to winning that fight, but will have to settle for the time being. He’ll be back, and as always, Donaire was classy afterwards.
Josh Taylor proved once again that he’s a bad man. He whipped Ryan Martin badly, banging the body repeatedly on his taller foe. I really like some of the variety there, too. He had a little Micky Ward action with his hook downstairs, though he’s not quite that sharp.
I bet Abel was concerned he’d been ousted. Just put the tinfoil hat away.
Give it up, brah.
Some of these guys take it personal, as if they are apart of Mayweather’s inner-circle.
Leonard gets him in a one-on-one, though. His punch placement along the ropes and adaptability was remarkable, and that’s on top of him being bigger, stronger, just as fast, and more willing to do what it takes to win.
You can’t hang your hat on Ortiz and Stiverne twice and gain entrance.
Well, one person got it wrong.
*Once again a thank you to Eric Duran, who consistently provides me with gems. Check out his work at Bite Down Boxing. Also, another thank you to Rob Day who is on top of this, as well, and contributes to us and Ringnews24.
