Michael Montero opines on the press release from Golden Boy Promotions announcing that their star attraction, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, will not be fighting around the Mexican Independence Day holiday in December. Most insiders felt that Canelo would face Gennady “GGG” Golovkin once again to settle their feud, or perhaps middleweight title holder Demetrius Anrade, or even light heavyweight title holder Sergey Kovalev, but it appears he will sit on the sidelines until the winter. On top of that, Alvarez is no longer doing VADA testing.
