Bucks/Hawks Game 6 Preview!

Giannis was out the Hawks had been dominant in a Game 4 blowout and all looked lost for the Milwaukee Bucks, that was until the game started. The low post has become increasingly less important in the NBA over the last twenty years and it was thought the way to win the game was to shoot the 3 ball and on Thursday night the Bucks reminded us that there is more than one way to win a basketball game. The Bucks won this game in the paint with a brilliant team performance and outstanding coaching. The Hawks and Head Coach Nate McMillian had no answers for the Bucks and especially Brook Lopez.

It wasn’t just the Brook Lopez show though, it was really the entire team. Brook Lopez delivered 33 points while Khris Middleton was simply outstanding as he in his 45 minutes stint on court put in 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jrue Holiday had 13 assists and 25 points while Bobby Portis contributed 22 points to his team total. To say this was a team win is a huge understatement. The NBA playoffs are about making adjustments from one game to another and Nate McMillian has to come up with some answers quickly if the Hawks are to force a decisive game 7.

The Bucks run a lot of Iso1 offense with Giannis and Middleton. (Which means the lane needs to be cleared out). With Giannis out, they are playing less Iso1 and now Brook is dominating the paint on both ends of the floor.
Will Giannis or Trae play in game 6?
If I would have to venture a guess, I would say no on Giannis and I would hold out a small hope Young could be back. Even if Young is back though the Bucks are still going to be hard to beat twice in a row especially if they decided to pound it into the paint.
It would seem safe to take the home team in game 6, but I just don’t see what adjustments the Hawks can make to match up in the paint with the Bucks. Now, it’s always possible that the Hawks get hot from 3-point range and when the game but I think when you look at the roster the Bucks are the better team and they have better coaching. Bucks 112  Hawks 105
