The man behind The Grueling Truth - Where Legends Speak
The Suns coasted through the first 2 games of this series and seemed destined to bring home their first NBA Title. But back in Milwaukee, the Bucks had other ideas and evened the series up. Game 5 at the outset looked like an easy Suns win, but the resilient Bucks battled back to claim the first road win of the series. So now, suddenly, the Bucks are just one home victory away from claiming their first NBA title in 50 years. Can they close it out in game 6?
The Suns had eight turnovers in the game, which is not a lot, but they seemed to come at the worst possible times, and those eight turnovers were converted into 17 points by the Bucks. Phoenix will need to be more disciplined and attack the boards better after conceding 11 offensive rebounds in Game 5. The key to all this, especially the turnovers, could be Chris Paul. Paul recovered well in the last game after a poor string of performances saw him commit 15 turnovers across three games. He scored 21 points, shooting 9-of-15 from the floor, including 3-of-3 from downtown, and dished out 11 assists as well. With the Bucks big three playing so well, Paul will have to become a scorer for the Suns to force a game 7.
The Buck’s biggest issue heading into game 6 could very well be if they can keep their emotions under control with a chance to win an NBA title at home. As I brought up in my preview article at the start of the series, the Bucks ability to defend and rebound will be why they win this championship, and I think that has held through the first 5 games of the series if they can control the boards for one more game they will win this series.
When it comes to second-chance points, points off turnovers, and transition points, the Milwaukee Bucks have done a much better job than their counterparts and will have to replicate that in Game 6. I think the key to game 6 will be Jrue Holiday his defense on Chris Paul has really slowed down the Suns’ offense and has caused Paul all kinds of issues.
I picked the Bucks in seven at the start of this series, but I think I missed it by a game! The Bucks will win this game with their strength on the boards and their ability to defend. Bucks 114 Suns 110
