TGTN NCAA Basketball Top 25 12/09/18

NCAA Top 25!

1) Kansas Jayhawks – Memphis transfer Dedric Lawson led the Jayhawks on Saturday.

2) Duke Blue Devils – R.J. Barnett is the most NBA ready player on the team. That’s not to take anything away from Zion Williamson, but Barnett is the real deal.

3) Michigan Wolverines – The Wolverines are blowing everybody out, but they face what is shaping up to be a very tough Big Ten schedule.

4) Tennessee Volunteers – Tennessee’s lone loss was in OT on a neutral court to Kansas.

5) Gonzaga Bulldogs – Rui Hachimura sank a game-winning jumper in the final seconds Wednesday to lift the Zags past Washington, then on Sunday Gonzaga lost it’s first game of the season to Tennessee.

6) Nevada Wolfpack – Nevada is still undefeated and they have played the toughest part of their schedule already. Don’t be surprised if the Wolfpack end up number one seed come tournament time.

7) Virginia Cavaliers – Virginia is one of the best defensive teams in the nation.

8) Texas Tech Red Raiders – The Red Raiders are 8-0 for the first time in eight years.

9) Auburn Tigers – The Tigers schedule has not been a killer but a single digit loss to Duke should prove that they are a very good team.

10) Michigan State Spartans – The Spartans got a good road win at Florida on Saturday even though they did not play their best.

11) North Carolina Tar Heels – The Heels handled UNC Wilmington easily this past week.

12) Florida State Seminoles – The Noles have an athletic team that is also well-balanced at scoring and better on defense than they were the last two years.

13) Ohio State Buckeyes – The Buckeyes are off to a 2-0 start in the tough Big Ten.

14) Virginia Tech Hokies – The Hokies have won two straight since the loss at Penn State.

15) Buffalo Bulls – The Bulls are about to find out how good they are with road tests at Marquette and Syracuse.

16) Maryland Terrapins – Maryland got a solid win against Loyola-Chicago on Saturday and their two losses were to Purdue and Virginia.

17) Wisconsin Badgers – As you can tell the Big Ten looks to be loaded this season and Wisconsin could be a major player come tournament time.

18) Mississippi State Bulldogs – Bulldogs only loss has been to Arizona State.

19) Houston Cougars – The Cougars own wins over BYU and Oklahoma State.

20) Indiana Hoosiers – The Hoosiers took a close win over a tough Louisville Cardinals team and with the talent this team possesses, they will only get better.

21) Cincinnati Bearcats – The Bearcats lone loss was to Ohio State and they are coming off a huge rivalry win on Saturday against Xavier.

22) Purdue Boilermakers – The Boilers are just 6-4 but don’t let the record fool you, Purdue is a very good team.

23) Oklahoma Sooners – The Sooners dominated Wichita State over the weekend and their only loss has been to Wisconsin.

24) Arizona State Sun Devils – The next two games should tell us where the Sun Devils stand. The Devils will play at Georgia and Vanderbilt.

25) Nebraska Cornhuskers – The Cornhuskers own a 23-point win over Seton Hall, at Seton Hall

AND 1

Kentucky Wildcats – The Cats were run over by Duke and lost a close one to a Seton Hall team that is not that good. With Coach Cal I expect this team will be there at the end when it matters.
