In a conference wrapped up in an all SEC football championship, the prelims to Monday night will begin Saturday with several interesting matchups starting early in the day. Week two for the Southeastern Conference Basketball has a lot of key matchups that could set the tone for the rest of the season. Can teams like Texas A&M and Tennessee find a win after losing two straight? Or will teams like Kentucky and Florida continue their momentum and continue on the winning ways?

In a major prelim for the National Championship game on Monday, the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team travels to Athens to face a very scrappy Georgia Bulldogs team. Both teams are coming into the game 1-1 in conference play.

Players to watch:

Alabama – Collin Sexton (20 points a game, 3 assists, 29 minutes)

Prediction: Alabama wins this game on the road by a very close margin. 75-70

Florida and Missouri square off in a heated matchup in Columbia, Missouri. Both teams are coming off huge road wins: Florida throttled Texas A&M and Missouri beat South Carolina on the road. As anybody in this conference will tell you, road wins are hard to come by so to do it by double digits is downright impressive.

Players to watch:

Missouri – Kassius Robertson (Senior Guard, 15 points a game, 32 minutes per game)

Florida – Chris Chiozza (Senior Guard, 13 points a game)

Prediction: Florida 70-Mizzou 55

LSU travels to face a feisty Aggie team. Both teams are looking to find identity and that should make for an interesting matchup.

Players to watch:

LSU – Tremont Waters (Freshman Guard, 17 points a game, 32 minutes per game)

Texas A&M – Tyler Davis (Junior Center, 14 points a game, 28 minutes per game)

Prediction: Texas A&M 66-LSU 59

Players to watch:

Mississippi State – Quinndary Witherspoon (Junior guard, 14 points per game, 30 minutes per game)

Ole Miss – Terence Davis (Junior Guard, 14 points per game, 26 minutes per game)

Prediction: Ole Miss wins a close one in the Pavilion 72-67

6:00 (EspnU)

Arkansas @ Auburn

Players to watch:

Arkansas – Jaylen Barford (Senior Guard, 18 points, 30 minutes per game)

Vanderbilt @ South Carolina

Players to watch:

Vandy – Jeff Roberson (Senior Forward, 15 points, 32 minutes per game)

South Carolina – Chris Silva (Junior Forward, 13 points, 23 minutes per game)

Prediction: Vandy wins big 70-55

In what is one of the most anticipated matchups of the SEC schedule this season,  Calipari takes his young Wildcats into a hostile environment against a well-coached Rick Barnes Tennessee basketball team. This game is bound to be an instant classic, as tickets have been sold out for well over two months. Thompson Boling will be rocking to the sway of Rocky Top, as 21,000 College Basketball fans will be buzzing. Without further ado here is the matchup:

Players to watch:

Kentucky – Kevin Knox (Freshman Guard, 14 points a game, 33 minutes per game)

Tennessee – Grant Williams (Sophomore Forward, 15 points a game, 28 minutes per game)

Prediction: I think the young Wildcats are up to the test and will leave Big Orange Country with a very close win. 76- 73 Kentucky

Saturday is bound to be a high flying day of action in College Hoops in the SEC. I will release my power ranking for the SEC Sunday night.
