The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the UCF Knights will face off for the Championship in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
This is an opportunity for both teams to gain a huge Tournament resume style win in a very competitive tournament, that has the likeness of West Virgina and Wake Forest.
Both Western Kentucky and UCF have had very difficult paths to earn a spot in Sunday’s championship game.
Western Kentucky will look to carry on the back of talented freshmen Charles Bassey who had 13 points, and a season-high 15 rebounds in the win over the Mountaineers.
Western Kentucky (3-1) has now won three in a row after losing the first game of the season on the road at Washington. Western Kentucky will go for four straight when they take on UCF Sunday night at the HTC Center in Conway, SC.
The UCF Knights are winners of two straight after dropping the second game of the year in an upset at the hands FAU. Terrell Allen led the Knights with an impressive outing in the 77-57 win over St. Joseph to advance the Knights onto to the championship game with Western Kentucky. Allen was 8- of- 11- shooting, including 4 of 5 from 3- Point range, and finished with 22 points.
This championship game between the Hilltoppers and the Knights will likely see two very talented teams going at it. Look for Western Kentucky to try and push the Knights to turnover the ball and make careless mistakes on both sides of the glass.
