The Oregon Ducks are the lowest seeded team left in this tournament and the Ducks went from being a first four out team just a few weeks ago all the way to playing in the Sweet 16. Virginia, on the other hand, is still trying to rid themselves of a catastrophic loss in the first round last year. This game is a huge contrast in styles as you have the methodical make-few mistakes-Cavaliers against the long and talented Ducks.
Who will prevail?
Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome will have to control the pace of the game, which means the Ducks will need great games from Payton Pritchard, Emin, Richardson, and Bailey to try to control the Cavs backcourt. If Guy has a big night the Cavs win easy; if he doesn’t the Ducks have a chance.
Kent Wooten has been dominant so far in this tournament, but Virginia is a totally different beast. For the Ducks to win Wooten will have to control the paint for the Ducks.
The Cavs are the real deal. Defensively they are the best team in the country. Yes the Ducks are on a roll, but beating Virginia is not the same as beating Wisconsin, UC-Irvine or the Washington Huskies. I think Virginia will methodically pull away and eventually win this game comfortably.
