A week ago the Nebraska Cornhuskers seemed a good bet to be an NCAA Tournament team. That all changed over the past weekend with an inexplicable loss to the Fighting Illini of Illinois. Now the Cornhuskers are finding themselves teetering on the bubble in the race to March Madness.
The Indiana Hoosiers, on the other hand, are trending up, led by Juwan Morgan and the surprising play of young point guard Devone Green. The Hoosiers are trying to force themselves into the March Madness conversation, but in order to do that they need a win at Nebraska tonight and a home win in their season finale against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

It’s not just Juwan Morgan that needs to be contained. Freddie McSwain has helped to ignite a spark in this Indiana team and his ability to defend has taken a ton of pressure off Juwan Morgan’s shoulders on the defensive side of the court. McSwain has been great on the boards also, and if Nebraska is going to win this game, they will need to win the battle on the boards, which, in the past couple weeks, has been tough for anybody the Hoosiers have played, to do.
Nebraska has to defend the three-point shot
Robert Johnson is the whole key in the end to this game. If he continues to play the way he did in Indiana’s win over Iowa, the Hoosiers will win this game. With Johnson though, that is sometimes easier said than done. Johnson has a tendency to try and enforce his will, and when he does, he tends to force bad shots and turn the ball over. The Cornhuskers need to be in his face from the first tip and make life miserable for him. If they don’t, they have little chance of winning this game.
Prediction: Nebraska is a solid team with three stud players but Indiana has better players and it looks like they have finally bought into Miller’s system. I look for Green, Morgan, and Johnson to all have big games. The Hoosiers win in a close one.
