Memphis: On a frigid day at FedExPark the Baylor Bears defeated the Memphis Tigers 7-0 to clinch the series at Memphis. The Bears had a hot bat today turning 12 hits for 7 runs. With the win, Baylor improves to 17-17 on the season while the Tigers drop to 12-25.
Baylor was lights out on the defensive side of the game today Tyler Thomas led the Bears with 5IP, 0 runs, 4 strikeouts. Relief pitching also was lights outs as three pitchers combined for 1 run, and 1 hit which proved to be the deciding factor for Baylor.
With great pitching, Baylor was able to find the consistency they so desperately lacked on Saturday. The Bears finished with 12 hits and only stranding 5 total runners in today’s win.
Memphis lacked the consistency today on both sides of the ball to even make the game close today. The pitching staff gave up 12 hits, 7 runs, and only striking out 8 in the game today which made it difficult to find the offense that Memphis desperately needed.
